About HowToVora

HowToVora is a community for internationals living in, moving to, or curious about Germany.

This platform was created after the major, long-standing expat community sites in Germany went offline, leaving a massive gap and erasing years of shared knowledge. While social media groups on Facebook or Reddit exist, they are often fragmented and difficult to search. We built this platform to give the expat community a true, structured, and welcoming home again.

What "HowToVora" means

How To — a nod to HowToGermany, whose founder was a friend
Vora — our own word, the verb that means "to share, to ask, to belong here"

How it works

The forum is structured as:

Realms — top-level categories (Arriving, Daily Life, Work, Community)
Subjects — sub-forums within each Realm
Scrolls — discussion threads
Vo — the opening message of a Scroll
Ra — every reply that follows

Free and ad-free

HowToVora has no ads, no tracking, no data sales. It's run by humans for humans.
